TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- There's new leadership at Bond Community Health Center after the Board of Directors fired CEO Bernard Goodman last week.

Dr. Temple O. Robinson has stepped in as Interim CEO. She says the board felt it was time to make some big changes, starting with new leadership, and she is confident that she's the best choice for that leadership.

Dr. Robinson says she will apply for the permanent CEO position. She has already spent 12 years at Bond as the medical director and chief medical officer. She says during that time, she has been able to learn from mistakes the center has made, but she has also learned how to move forward, which is what she is ready to do now.

"We're not going anywhere," said Dr. Robinson. "Our providers are here. The level of services will not change. If anything, they will be enhanced. We're not having any layoffs. Dr. Robinson isn't going anywhere. I need to take a little time to get my bearings, of course, but I'll be here and I'll be seeing patients in a month or so."

Doctor Robinson says she isn't worried about keeping funding that has been in jeopardy for the health center recently. She says they've applied for more than one grant on federal, state and local levels. Some of those grants have been approved, others they have re-applied for and they are still waiting to hear back on some others, but Dr. Robinson says she wants to assure everyone that for right now, they have the funding they need.
