JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating after a person called Somerset Academy in Jefferson County and threatened to detonate three bombs inside the school.
Somerset Academy principal Cory Oliver confirmed that someone called the school’s main line Tuesday morning, threatening to detonate three devices in the school.
All of the school’s approximately 750 students were evacuated and taken off-campus.
Local law enforcement was called in to search the school, but found no evidence to support the threat. He says the search has now concluded, and classes will resume.
Students are being given the option of being picked up by their parents at the old auditorium on Water Street or returning to campus.
The FDLE was called in to investigate as well.
