EVERGLADES CITY, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say they've found the body of a Minnesota man who went missing while canoeing in Everglades National Park.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office reports that 70-year-old Frederick James Thompson was found dead Sunday afternoon, more than 10 miles from where he was last seen by another canoer.

Officials say Thompson and 67-year-old Richard Rosh were in an overloaded canoe when it overturned Friday afternoon. Both men were wearing life jackets, and Rosh made it to Jewel Key, south of Everglades City. The Naples Daily News (http://goo.gl/AB8so7 ) reports that Rosh spent the night there and flagged down a boater the next morning.

The sheriff's office, state and federal park officials and the U.S. Coast Guard spent the next day searching for Thompson.
