BRANFORD, Fla. (WTXL)--The search is over for a missing boater who was last seen on the Suwannee River Sunday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office found the body of 58-year-old Robert Byerts with side scanning sonar equipment.
FWC officers were then able to recover his body around 8 p.m. Tuesday, north of the Dorothy Land Boat Ramp.
Byerts was traveling north on the river Sunday. His boat, a 17-foot whaler, was discovered that afternoon.
