TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Authorities opened up a death investigation after a body was found at an abandoned house.
Monday around 8:45 a.m., the Tallahassee Police Department and the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to a scene in the 1400 block of Evangeline Way, near Governor's Square mall.
When they arrived, they found a deceased person in an abandoned house.
Although preliminary findings suggest foul play was not the cause of death, police say this remains an active investigation.
The deceased person has not yet been identified.
TPD investigators from the Violent Crimes and Forensic Units were called in to assume the investigation and process the scene.
