BOSTON (AP) — The judge in the federal death penalty trial of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has postponed jury selection because of an impending blizzard.
Judge George O'Toole Jr. resumed his individual questioning of prospective jurors Monday. O'Toole told prosecutors and Tsarnaev's lawyers that no jurors will be called in Tuesday for questioning. He said there's a chance jury selection may also be canceled Wednesday, depending on the storm's severity.
O'Toole has questioned 81 people over six days. He has not revealed how many of them have been dismissed.
The 21-year-old Tsarnaev is charged with 30 federal crimes, including 17 that carry the possibility of the death penalty. He has pleaded not guilty.
Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured in the 2013 bombing.
