TALLAHASSEE, FL -- A Florida lawmaker has filed a bill with the goal of keeping the state, "sunny year-round."
If passed, the state would observe daylight savings time year-round. The bill was filed by Rep. Kristin Jacobs of Coconut Creek Florida.
In the bill, Jacobs names it the "Sunshine Protection Act".
It would take effect in July of 2016 if passed, resulting in 2015 being the last time Florida residents would get to "fall back."
A similar bill was attempted in 2014 but died in the Government Operations Subcommittee.
