TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend is gearing up for its largest fundraising event and celebration of the year.

The 29th annual Bowl for Kids Sake will be held Saturday, April 27, at Florida State University's Crenshaw Lanes.

Teams of five players that have raised $500 or more will enjoy a day of bowling and refreshments at the facility.

Though the day revolves around pins, lanes and a ball, organizers say that the day isn't just about bowling. The event is a culmination of requests for help to fund the 350+ mentoring relationships fostered by Big Brothers Big Sisters. The group hopes to raise $40,000 to fund programs that influence at-risk youth in a positive way.
