2-1-1 Big Bend sets information sessions for volunteers

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The social services organization 2-1-1 Big Bend is seeking volunteers and has scheduled two information sessions.

2-1-1 Big Bend provides emotional support, crisis assistance, assessment, information and referrals with up-to-date community resources.

Especially sought after are males and seniors as well as women with experience as a wife, mother, grandmother, working woman and/or survivor, according to a news release.

Volunteers need the "the ability to give the comfort and kindness that sets a fellow neighbor on the path toward a successful future," the group says. "2-1-1 will train you on everything else you’ll need to know to become a great counselor!"

2-1-1 Big Bend is holding information sessions on Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Florida State University Psychology Building, Rm 102A, 1107 W. Call St.
