TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Big Bend Cares is looking to expand. Currently, the organization provides educational and comprehensive support to people infected with HIV/AIDS in Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor and Wakulla counties.
The organization is hoping to serve more people in the community by constructing a comprehensive medical facility on South Monroe St.
They say the new facility will allow them to move from a social-services model to a primary-care, medical-home model, providing a wide range of medical services under one roof.
If opened, the facility would include a primary care clinic, basic laboratory testing services, dental services, case management services, peer adherence services, and a pharmacy.
The estimated cost of the project is $10 million.
