VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--A bicyclist trying to cross a highway is hit by vehicle in Valdosta.
Police say the driver was headed east on West Hill avenue near Ray Lane and tried to avoid hitting the bicyclist but couldn't. It happened Tuesday around 6:30 p.m.
The bicyclist, 52-year-old Silvery Walker, had some minor injuries. He was taken to South Georgia Medical Center to be treated and has been released.
Walker was cited for bicycling on the roadway. The driver of the vehicle wasn't charged.
