Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL) - Officials say 207 bears have been killed statewide today.
Florida Wildlife Officials have closed the season for the east panhandle and central bear management units. The north and south BMU's will continue their season tomorrow.
While higher than expectations, officials say this just shows the region's increasing bear population. The season is scheduled to end as soon as the cap of 320 kills have been reached.
