BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - Police say a 27-year old woman was killed after being involved in an altercation with an ex-boyfriend.

Bartow police said on Sunday that Emily Tensley was shot in the abdomen outside of her apartment complex on Saturday night. Police believe it was 21-year old Patrick Christopher Panton who fired the shot and fled from the scene.

Police have obtained a warrant for Panton's arrest on the charge of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officers on scene began performing CPR on Tensley before she was transported by Polk County EMS to Bartow Regional Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.
