BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police have arrested a man they say drove the getaway car after a still unidentified suspect shot and wounded a 9-year-old girl playing on her front stoop.
Interim Commissioner Kevin Davis said at a news conference Wednesday that 26-year-old Michael Daye was arrested and has been charged with attempted murder, assault and weapons offenses.
Davis said that on Oct. 4, Day drove the car from which the gunman fired, striking the girl in the leg. Police have said the gunman was aiming at four people in the area and that the girl was caught in the crossfire. She was shot blocks from where 3-year-old McKenzie Elliott was fatally shot last year.
