TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A ballet great is in Tallahassee this week to train young dancers. Lauren Anderson is known as Houston Ballet's first African-American principal dancer.

She has paved the way for many dancers including Misty Copeland who also made history when she became the first black principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre.

WTXL caught up with Anderson at the Tallahassee Ballet. She discussed the challenges she faced in her career and offered a word of advice to those who want to take their skills to the professional level.
