BAKER COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Baker County K-12 School officials are sending an important reminder to parents and students as they shop for clothing and new items for the school year.

Officials say clothing too loose or too tight will not be tolerated.

They also say holes in jeans is against their "no disruption in the fabric policy."

This year they will not allow cell phones for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

Students in 9th through 12th grades can only have the cell phones during lunch as well as before and after school.

"We're trying to help teach our students as well that there's a right time and a wrong time for cell phones," said Michael Best, the principal of Baker County K-12 School. "So we're hoping to help them be professional and learn how to survive in the professional world."

School officials say the policies will be in full force this year.

Students who fail to comply will be warned as a first offense, face administration detention in the second offense, and three days of in school suspension as the final offense.
