BAINBRIDGE, Ga.(WTXL)-- Bainbridge Public Safety responded to a call of a woman being held at gunpoint at Pinecrest Mobile Home Park around 12 noon today. When officers arrived, the victim, Caroyln D. Smith stated that the suspect, 39 year old Milton Samuel, had held her at gun point, fired shots and fled the residence. Investigators searched the woods surrounding the mobile home park before Investigator Mark Esquivel reached Samuel on the phone. Samuel told Esquivel where he was located and was picked up on Hwy. 97 South. When Samuel was picked up, he was not carrying a weapon.
After interviewing Samuel and Smith, investigators discovered that Samuel was playing with the gun when he fired a shot in the air. Smith told him to give her the gun back and run before officers arrived. Smith then hid the gun and was resistant to tell officers where it was located.
Carolyn D. Smith was charged with obstruction. Milton Samuel is charged with discharging a firearm within the city limits and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A warrant is being taken out on him.
