BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL)--Nearly 270 people are losing their jobs in Bainbridge.
Shaw Industries Group, Inc. has announced a mass layoff at its plant on Industrial Blvd.
In a letter to Bainbridge Mayor Edward Reynolds, the company said 267 employees will be permanently laid off.
The company told employees not to count on their employment being extended after October 15. They're working to determine if there are other openings within the company for those impacted.
