BAINBRIDGE, GA (WTXL) - Law enforcement and firefighters gathered in Bainbridge Monday to discuss with the explosion at Liquid Transfer Terminals and to review procedures.
The Bainbridge Public Safety Fire Chief says he believes the incident, which happened last Wednesday, was well handled.
According to the Chief, the million gallons of flammable product were contained and no firefighters were seriously injured while working to put out the flames.
And as a result of the incident, a Southwest Georgia Incident Management Team will be formed to respond to future disasters.
All who spoke at the meeting praised the the cooperation between all responding agencies.
One person was killed because of the explosion which is believed to have been caused from the spark of a welder.
