BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) - The Southwest Baptist Church in Bainbridge will be hosting a 'Church Security and Intruder Response Training' next month for church and faith-based leaders within the Tri-state area.

This is a two day training and leaders can choose to attend one or both of the days.

The first day will consist of church security, how to create a team, and their roles, while the second day will be filled with more hands-on activities.

Southwest Baptist Church has already formed a security team, but chooses to attend numerous trainings to better prepare themselves in the event of an emergency.

"We just started hearing on the news all the things happening with the shootings. You always have that 'it can never happen to us.' The one thing you always hear is 'we thought it would never happen to us.' We decided to step forward and we formed a security team here at Southwest," said Amy Eakin, who attends Southwest Baptist Church.

Both days of training, Sept. 21 and 22, will be conducted by Strategos International, a group of veteran law enforcement and military personnel.
