FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Authorities have found a 10-month-old baby safe hours after she was taken in a carjacking.
The Sun Sentinel reports the baby was found safe inside the same stolen vehicle in Fort Lauderdale on Monday night about an hour after an Amber alert had been issued.
Fort Lauderdale detective Tracy Figone says there was no sign of the carjacker when police arrived.
The vehicle had been stolen Monday before 4 p.m. outside a laundromat. Surveillance nearby captured the suspect before he entered the car.
Figone says authorities are currently searching for the suspect. He is described as a 19- or 20-year-old male who was last seen wearing a dark long-sleeve jacket, blue jeans and Timberland boots.
