PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a baby was left in a car outside a home in the Florida Panhandle.

The News Herald (http://bit.ly/1Ue0X0t ) reports the child's mother returned home from a shopping trip near Panama City on Tuesday and asked two 14-year-old family members to bring in the baby and the groceries.

The mother told Bay County Sheriff's deputies she spoke with her landlord before going inside and realizing the child was still in the car. Deputies say the child was in the car for 15 to 30 minutes.

Authorities say she called 911 at 1:40 p.m. and the baby was treated at a hospital.

The sheriff's office is investigating and will send a report to the state attorney for review.

The name and age of the child wasn't released.
