TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Elder Care Services of Tallahassee has been awarded $1,000 from Awesome Tallahassee.
The grant is no-strings-attached and is for their Senior Volunteer Program's summer literacy camp.
The volunteer program provides seniors 55 years or older, the opportunity to fill numerous community needs, while keeping themselves active and engaged.
This year the program partnered with Smith Williams to provide low income children with a free storytelling program.
Organizers say they felt honored to be awarded for their efforts.
