JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A shop lifting suspect has been arrested after hitting an officer with her car and leading troopers on a chase through two counties.

The Florida Highway Patrol says on Saturday, around 11:29 a.m., they received information that a Graceville Police officer was hit by a suspect's car while investigating a shop lifting call.

Troopers were eventually able to find a vehicle traveling eastbound on S.R. 2 just inside Holmes County that matched the vehicle description given by Graceville PD.

When the driver, Kimberly Broxton, realized she had been spotted, she began to accelerate away from the troopers.

Troopers say Broxton didn't lead them on a chase for long, as they were able to quickly perform a PIT Maneuver (Precision Intervention Technique) and stopped the vehicle.

Broxton tried to get out of the car and run away, but was quickly apprehended. She had been charged with fleeing and obstruction without violence. Additional charges are expected.
