Authorities release new details on Valdosta homicide investigation

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Authorities are investigating after a man was shot to death and stuffed inside the trunk of a car. 

Police say they were called to 2nd Avenue around 5:45 a.m. Sunday morning about a suspicious car parked in a vacant lot. 

When officers got a closer look at the car, they found a dead man inside.

That man has now been identified as 41-year old Jerone Andrews, Sr. He's simply described as a black male in a police report.

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Department says Andrews was stuffed in the trunk of that car and shot multiple times.

Valdosta Police says this appears to be an isolated incident.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta Police Department is investigating the death of a man found early Sunday inside a vehicle.

Police said they found Jerone Andrews Sr., 41, inside a vehicle on at 5:47 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue.

Officers responded to that scene in regards to a suspicious vehicle parked in a vacant lot, police said in a news release.
