JULIETTE, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a Jones County teenager was shot to death outside of a home in Juliette.
Local media outlets report the incident began Saturday night.
Jones County sheriff's Maj. Earl Humphries says it appears 14-year-old Jonathan Luke Woodard may have been prowling near the home when he was fatally shot in the neck.
Jones County Deputy Coroner Matt Jarratt says Woodard was wearing camouflage and a face mask.
Humphries says a woman living at the residence noticed someone lurking around a window. Police say she had her roommate investigate as she called 911.
Humphries says the roommate went outside and at some point, Woodard turned toward the roommate who then fired.
Jarratt says Woodard was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges have been filed and the case is still under investigation.
