TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The author of an academic study spoke on Florida State University campus Tuesday night.
The study compares voters who supported President Donald Trump during his campaign and British supporters of Brexit.
Through hundreds of surveys and fieldwork, Justin Gest, the author of The New Minority compiled a report on the issues of "white working-class citizens" living within dying industrial cities and how these citizens came to make the political decisions that led to both results.
He says, this can provide context to the shifts in British and American politics.
