MADISON CO., Fla. - An Atlanta man was arrested after crossing through Madison County into Lowndes County in a high-speed chase, according to Madison Sheriff Ben Stewart.

The incident happened on Thursday, January 17. A Madison official tried to stop a white Ford F-150 truck on County Road 145, near Dephinium Drive. The driver, now identified as 55-year-old Gene Clyde Wall, was reportedly driving erratically, even driving into oncoming traffic. However, officials say the the driver of vehicle wouldn't stop when the official turned on the lights and the siren.

The chase continued into South Georgia, and Lowndes County Officials and the Georgia State Patrol were called in to help Madison Sheriff's deputies. The suspect was arrested after law enforcement deflated his tires in Clyattville.

Lowndes County deputies arrested Wall and transported him to the Lowndes County Jail. The Madison County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for Felony Fleeing and Eluding, which requires Wall to be brought back to Madison County to face charges, once his judicial proceedings in Georgia are complete.
