TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The wait for the 76th annual North Florida Fair in Tallahassee is almost over and the fairgrounds is full of people putting on the finishing touches.

The North Florida Fair is almost here! But before you can take a spin on the ferris wheel, inspectors have to make sure its up to code.

Florida Department of Agriculture sends inspectors out days before the fair opens. In fact, fair operator Mark Harvey says those inspectors could be out Thursday morning finishing up.

Those inspections are mandatory. Any time a ride comes down, the inspectors must come out.

"Every time a ride is torn down and built back up in a different location, these inspectors have to come and take a look and make sure everything is in proper working order; before any customer is allowed on it, before the ride is open for anybody to get on it," said Harvey.

The fair has 50 rides and all of them will be looked over so that you can have the best fair experience possible.
