MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - Halloween is almost here, and the Leon County Sheriff's Office is getting ready for its Trunk or Treat event.

Safety is an important topic to Lt. Grady Jordan.

His daughter was hit by a truck two years ago while trick or treating.

The driver was charged with DUI with serious bodily injury.

Lt. Jordan says while his daughter has recovered from the incident, it's a reminder that a tragedy can happen quickly.

LCSO's Trunk-or-Treat will be held on Thursday, October 26 at Governor Square Mall.

It gets started at 2 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m.
