DONALSONVILLE, GA (WALB) - On Sunday night July 29, 2018, a man was arrested in Bainbridge, and authorities believe he is the man who killed a Seminole County man four days earlier.

Steve Maurice Register, Jr., 28, was arrested on outstanding warrants for felony murder and three counts of aggravated assault involving the murder of MichaelLadonCharckon. 

Agents and deputies searched several known areas Register was known to stay and frequent in Seminole, Decatur and Early Counties the day and night before his arrest. 

A vehicle Register was known to ride in was spotted by Decatur County Sheriff’s Deputies at the Truckstop / Subway on Highway 84 in Bainbridge, Sunday night.

Register was a passenger in the vehicle and arrested on the warrants from Seminole Co., and was transported to the Seminole Co. Sheriff’s Office where he was booked in on the charges.

The aggravated assault charges against Register stem from him allegedly shooting at others at the scene off of Highway 374 after the alleged shooting of Charckon, who died from a gunshot wound.
