TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It's not just people who need love this holiday season.

Tallahassee Animal Services is once again helping share some Christmas spirit with our four-legged friends with the Animal Angel Tree.

“The Animal Service Center (ASC) accepts roughly 5,000 animals annually and provides each one with needed care,” Commissioner Scott Maddox said. “Through no fault of their own, they have been left homeless, and while not every home has space, we ask that you find space in your heart and be an animal angel this season.”

The Animal Angel Tree is located in the lobby of the ASC at the 1125 Easterwood Drive, courtesy of a sponsorship from the Animal Shelter Foundation.

When a person selects an ornament to take home and makes a donation based on the cost of the item needed, the donation will be used to purchase that item. Some of the Animal Angel Tree items include:

• Dog and Cat Spays/Neuters, $25 - $50
• Kitten/Puppy Formula, $25
• Dog heartworm treatment sponsor, $100
• Flea Prevention, $10

All donations are tax deductible. The tree will remain on display at the ASC through New Year’s Day.
