DUPONT, WA (RNN) - An Amtrak train derailed in Washington state Monday morning, blocking all lanes of Interstate 5.

Train cars toppled off of a bridge onto the interstate below.

Dupont is between Tacoma and Olympia.

The train was traveling south out of Tacoma.

TV station KIRO reported it is being treated as a mass casualty incident, but there is no word on injuries at this time.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department tweeted there were reports of injuries, but did not say how many.

Amtrak announced that service south of Seattle has been suspended.

"Thank you to the first (responders) on the scene," said Gov. Jay Inslee on Twitter. "We're praying for everyone on board the train and ask everyone to hold them in your thoughts."
