ATLANTA, GA. (WTXL) - Many Americans are voicing their opinions about body cameras for law enforcement.
According to Utility, provider of Critical Connectivity and Mobile Video for First Responders, an overwhelming majority of Americans believe certain camera capabilities can help with accountability and transparency, But 77% don't think officers should decide when cameras are turned on or off.
There is significant concern over security of the video that is captured with the cameras.
According to Business Group, when asked if it should be left up to the police officer to decide when to manually Start or Stop body-worn camera video recording, 82% of Black, 77% of White and 74% of Hispanic respondents answered No.
