TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The American Legion Post at Lake Ella opened their doors Thursday morning, hosting a traditional Thanksgiving feast for veterans.
While many of us will be sitting around the dinner table with family and friends, others in the community are not so fortunate, many of them being veterans.
So on Thanksgiving, volunteers served up food to those who have served our country.
Organizers are expecting around 1,000 people in the community to come by.
They said that Star Metro will provide transportation to and from the event at various locations.
The meal was served around 1 p.m. on Thursday at American Legion Post 13 at Lake Ella, and it included a total of 65 turkeys!
Organizers said it was their way to say "thank you".
