TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The number of plaintiffs in the lawsuit against the owners and managers of the Northwood Centre is now up to 248.
According to the plaintiffs' attorney Ryan Andrews, as of Tuesday an additional 162 people have added their name to the complaint, including many former and current state workers.
The amended complaint filed earlier this year states that beginning in 2006, the property began to sustain damage from water, bat feces, human waste and leaking roofs. The suit says these issues created unsafe working conditions.
The lawsuit also says toxicologists advised no one should go into certain offices.
Then in 2007, employees claim to have started having medical problems.
This all comes after inspectors found 10 pounds of bat guano in the building earlier this month.
The owners of the Northwood Centre have also filed a lawsuit against the State after they broke the lease of several state departments housed in the facility.
