BLOUNTSTOWN, FL (WTXL) - The Agency for Health Care Administration has rejected a corrective action plan submitted by Calhoun-Liberty Hospital Friday.
Hospital officials sent the agency the plan Thursday. They were ordered to make changes after state officials found them in violation of several procedures following the case of Barbara Dawson, who died after she was forcibly discharged from the hospital.
According to the hospital, the staff is receiving additional training in reassessing patients, performing medical screenings, and documenting in incident reports.
The hospital says the staff will work through the weekend to get caught up and correct the existing plan. They have five business days to do so.
