TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Soni and Khesia Marc had planned their wedding for two years, but Hurricane Hermine changed all of that.

"When it did come, we were in shambles," Soni said.

Hermine struck three days before the wedding. It was supposed to be held at Mission San Luis, but the venue was damaged and powerless after the storm -- forcing the couple to think fast.

"We called all over town to get some help to see where we could reschedule the wedding," Soni said. "The church had no electricity, a lot of venues had no electricity, hotels had no electricity."

The two say hope was fading, until they a miracle came just before the big day. The DoubleTree by Hilton Tallahassee was able to host the wedding.

"When I saw her, every frustration that I felt in my bones was gone away, because we finally had what we were looking for for so long," Soni said.

"I couldn't take it in until I actually seen my husband," Khesia said, "and it was the happiest day of my life."

The Marcs say even though Hermine turned their plans inside out, it was a blessing in disguise.

"The old saying goes, 'It's always a good omen if it rains,' but in our opinion, if there's a hurricane, it has to be an act of God," Soni said.

"We weathered the storm," Khesia said. "Our love survived a hurricane, and that's a beautiful thing to tell our grandkids and their kids -- you know, it's a story to tell all generations."
