African American Read-In set for main Leon County Library

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Public Library is celebrating Black History Month with an African American Read-In.

The event will be Feb. 11, Sunday, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., at the LeRoy Collins Main Library.

The event promotes diversity in literature and shines light on African American authors.

Attendees can visit break-out sessions featuring young adult, literature, fiction and non-fiction and urban fiction genres.

Selections to be highlighted include poems, fiction and nonfiction books, song lyrics, plays and speeches.

Attendees are encouraged to join the discussions about the impact of African American literature while sharing favorites and impressions.

The event will also feature a children’s corner for young patrons to hear classic children's books by African American authors.
