TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Officials are reporting an active diesel spill in Tallahassee.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management said that an unknown amount of diesel fuel has released from an underground pipe on Tuesday due to a crack in the line.
They said that the incident happened at a location at 703 Spanish Moss Drive in Tallahassee. The pipe was connected to an aboveground tank, causing the petroleum to be released on land.
The release is believed to be less than 25 gallons, however, the exact amount is unknown. No storm drains or waterways have been affected, though they say that the environment has been impacted. To what degree, however, is still unknown.
Officials say that clean up actions are in progress.
