GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A freight truck accident on I-10 caused traffic to be backed for an hour in Gadsden County.
Richard Smith, 27, of Brandon, Fla. is being charged with failure to use due care.
Florida Highway Patrol responded to an accident at about 7:55 p.m. on Saturday on I-10 eastbound near mile marker 192.
According to FHP, Smith was traveling eastbound on I-10 when he saw traffic backed up in front of him due to a previous crash.
FHP states Smith was unable to stop in time and swerved off the road, hitting the guardrail.
FHP says the accident caused traffic to be backed up for an hour because the trailer of the truck was partially blocking the inside lane.
Smith was not injured and alcohol did not play a role in the accident.
FHP was assisted by the Florida Department of Transportation.
