TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - AAA is once again teaming up with Anheuser-Busch this holiday season, offering its Tow-to-Go program now through Jan. 2.
As a last resort, Floridians and Georgians who have had too much to drink can call 1-855-2-TOW-2-GO (1-855-286-9246) and a tow truck will pick them up along with their vehicle and up to one other passenger.
The program aims to keep intoxicated drivers from getting behind the wheel and is available to both triple a members and non-members. AAA's W.D. Williams says there is no reason to drive drunk this holiday season.
"If they don't feel safe to drive home, call AAA," said Williams. "We'll take you and your car home, confidentially, and absolutely free within ten miles of your location."
As the to-go service is designed to be used as a last resort, AAA says planning ahead and choosing a designated driver or ride service is still the best option.
The program is available statewide in both Florida and Georgia.
Since the Tow-to-Go program's inception in 1998, more than 24,000 drunk drivers have been kept off the roads. You can find out more information here.
