VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) -- Wild Adventures theme park in Valdosta is in the middle of a busy year.
The park recently opened for the 2014 season.
"We always strive to make every new season at Wild Adventures bigger, better and more fun than the last," said General Manager Molly Deese. "We can't wait to open the 2014 season on Saturday and see our guests enjoying all the fun new additions to the park."
This year, Wild Adventures is adding a few new attractions including a butterfly exhibit. It covers 3,000 square feet and allows guests to see Monarch and Paintied Lady butterflies.
On June 29, Shirley the Asian Elephant will be celebrating her 70th birthday at the park. Shirley is a 2nd oldest living elephant and park goers can celebrate with her that weekend.
The theme park has also recently received six meerkats from a zoon in Tennessee. Each meerkat weighs about two pounds and stand about a foot tall.
This summer at Wild Adventures will also feature a number of music acts.
