TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - A local restaurant owner throws his hat into the race for a spot on the Leon County Commission.
Manny Joanos announced his candidacy for the District 2 seat Wednesday morning.
Joanos, a Godby High Alumnus, is currently an administrator for Leon County Schools. He also owned and operated Manny's Restaurant in Tallahassee for 28 years.
Joanos says, he's looking to reshape District 2, "We need investment in District 2, unemployment is to high we need to bring jobs to the area. We need to bring new housing to District 2, We need to bring new shops to District 2, all this well solve unemployment issues that need resolving. People have forgot about District 2 and its time we bring focus to that area."
Joanos is not new to county government. He served as a Leon County Commissioner during the 1990's.
