A List of Shelters Still Open in the Area

Posted
and last updated

According to Department of Emergency Management, Chiles High School and Oakridge Elementary School are no longer accepting anymore people. However, they said that Florida High School is still open to those in need.

Approximately 22 evacuation shelters opened across the Big Bend region. Though some emergency shelters have closed, other remain open and are now transitioning into "host" shelters.

These "host" shelters will serve as a place for people to stay who are unable to get to their home because of damage or have other difficult circumstances.
