EAST LAKE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a lieutenant for a Florida fire department has been arrested on charges of human trafficking and child sex crimes.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials arrested 39-year-old Matthew Doyle on Thursday.

The Tampa Bay Times reports East Lake Fire Chief Tom Jamison immediately suspended Doyle without pay. Doyle has worked for the agency since 2005.

He faces charges of human trafficking, lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim between 12 and 16 and unlawful use of a two-way communications device. He remained in jail Friday morning and a lawyer isn't listed on jail records.
