Man Who Drowned in Cherokee Lake Identified

UPDATE-- Thomasville Police are reporting the name of the man who drowned in Cherokee Lake, Saturday.

Police say Armando Ferrera Peraza, died after jumping into the lake just before 6pm. 

Peraza's body was pulled from the water just after 8pm. 

Police don'r suspect any foul play however the investigation is still underway. 

Thomasville, Ga. (WTXL)-- The Thomasville Police Department has recovered a body from Cherokee Lake.

Police were called out to Cherokee Lake that's just near Covington Avenue; after a witness reported seeing a man jump into the lake.

The witness says minutes went by and he never came back up from the water. 

The man has not yet been identified. Police are investigating.
