A Nebraska man found a very creative way to check on his grandmother in Florida after Hurricane Matthew - he ordered her a pizza, ABC and WFTV reported Thursday.
Eric Olsen talked to his 87-year-old grandmother last Friday, just before Hurricane Matthew knocked out her phone service. Unable to reach her after the storm passed, he contemplated contacting law enforcement in Palm Coast, Florida, but saw on Facebook how they were overwhelmed with calls.
That is when Olsen got the idea to call Papa John's Pizza, and ordered a pizza to be delivered to his grandmother's house. He gave specific instructions: when the driver arrives, call him and let Eric know his grandmother is okay.
All went as planned - grandma was fine - and the delivery driver described the woman's expression as "just priceless."
