WATKINSVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for assaulting an elderly woman who once employed him as a handyman.
Jacob Potter Wagner was sentenced Friday in Oconee County Superior Court after pleading guilty to aggravated battery, aggravated assault and burglary in the May 10, 2010 attack on the 73-year-old woman.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/ZUtIrm ) Wagner entered the woman's home around midnight and beat her with a blunt object. The woman suffered broken facial bones and a ruptured eyeball.
Authorities say the two had argued earlier that day.
