TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- We're cooking up some steaks for What's to Eat this morning!
Matthew Miller and Rayah Smith from Texas Roadhouse joined us on Sunrise to give us some tips on getting the best steak -- and it all begins with what you buy.
Miller says buy the best grade of meat you can afford. Learn the different types of cuts and what you like best. Ribeye is cut from the middle (or "eye") of the rib this boneless cut has a more robust flavor. Since it has the most marbling, or interior fat, is can be the most tender. Think prime rib.
Other advice from Miller? Look for steaks with fine texture and firm to the touch. Also, check out the color. You want to check out the coloring, too. Look to be a light cherry red, not a deep shade of red, and stay away from gray meat.
We also got some insider tips on getting the perfect grill marks, seasoning tips, and cooking your steak to the right temperature. Just watch the full video to hear what Miller has to say.
